Hemp and American ManufacturingJesse Clymer
Hemp industry news was slower this week allowing us to focus on two related notes. The first being that Hemp History Week is quickly approaching us. Being held on June 3-9 to “It is time for Federal policy on industrial hemp to reflect today’s reality and ensure a better tomorrow for America’s families and farmers, the economy and our planet.” More information on local events can be found on their site. Also in the news, the unfortunate events in Bangladesh involving a garment factory there. We make no secret of our affinity for hemp and desire to see it legalized for production in the United States. Along with that is our desire to bring textile manufacturing back to the United States. The only reason garments are made so much cheaper internationally is because of unfair labor rates, child labor, and hazardous working conditions. Beyond that the dollars you spend on those type of things are going to foreign companies and the cost to transport your product across ocean(s). We continue to work towards increasing the amount of made in America products we offer. Buy American, Buy Hemp.
For Hemp Authority specific news, we have been very busy on the back end of things working to increase our capacities in a variety of fronts. There is so much going on in different it is hard to update on everything! We are increasing our staff count to be able to better handle different tasks, and you should start to see an increase in social media content from this! Also, we are working on a deal to increase our U.S. production capabilities and hopefully move some of our non-US products to that in the future. Hopefully we can finalize a deal in the near future to bring a few of our products to international locations! Finally, progress is still on going in our development of Hemp Authority’s first full product line, hemp based natural cosmetics. Those are all of just the major ongoing projects we have, along with the 50 other minor thing here and there. Moving forward the giveaways will also get back on track and start cycling through our social media accounts, so keep a look out!
